GET INVOLVED
Mentorship: work with 1-2 children based on similar areas of interest. Be able to help mentees reach their potential and engage into the knowledge of those with more experience than themselves and by helping them develop and learn faster than they would on their own for future situations
- Looking for qualities: available, active listener, communication, empathy, relationship building, leadership, constructive feedback, problem-solving, and mutual-respect
Tutoring: private academic support, usually provided by someone with deep knowledge or defined expertise in a particular subject(s).
- Subjects Needed: math, english, history, study methods,
LifeSkills Workshop(s): communications skills, self-esteem/self-worth, respecting others, financial literacy, career training, character building, understanding your “WHY”, community service, personal hygiene, positive affirmations, tutoring and mentoring programs, mental health, and leadership.
Training/Coaching: Training is teaching, or developing in oneself or others, any skills and knowledge or fitness that relate to specific useful competencies (i.e. weights, shooting, other techniques)
- Coaching is an experienced person, that supports a learner or client in achieving a specific personal or professional goal by providing training and guidance
Events: Depending on the event roles may be: handing out event or activity resources, explaining what to do, helping guests with activities, helping visitors find their way around, taking names/contact information, keeping track of guest numbers, or encouraging guest to take part or fill in questionnaires
